For Joanna, the music stopped thirty years ago when she left Charlie.

With the world at her feet, Joanna enjoys a glittering existence in America. Her life offers her everything she desires, but in her heart, she has only ever desired one thing. She harbours a secret of such magnitude that it can no longer be contained; Joanna is compelled to return to England - and Charlie. Finally, after thirty years of her love dancing alone, she is compelled to face the painful truth, and the truth is she broke Charlie’s heart all those years ago.

This is the burden of guilt she has carried with her for every one of the thirty years they have been apart. The secret Joanna brings with her will turn Charlie’s world upside down, but little does she know how her own life is about to change. There are things in Joanna’s past that she wouldn’t choose to share with anyone. There are also things in her current life to which she is inextricably bound. Life pulls her in every direction, but now, finally, there is only one direction left. Their reunion is now inevitable, and Joanna must finally confront her past. Will Charlie forgive her? Will he accept the consequences of the secret she has kept hidden for so long?

This is an enormous step into the unknown for Joanna; she fears Charlie's reaction but fears her own even more. She can not admit, even to herself, that she has been in love with Charlie since the first day they met. Neither thirty years nor the ocean between them has diminished that love.
