He's appeared as an expert on the Uncanny podcast and has his own pod, Creepy Cove Community Church. He writes a column for the Fortean Times, and is the author of several books, including his non-fiction book, The Frighteners, where he uncovers why we love horror. We also chat about his Matt Hunter series, about a minister who has lost his faith but is drawn into solving some bizarre murders.

He adapted Phil Rickman's best-selling supernatural/crime novel Midwinter of the Spirit as a 3-part miniseries for ITV. He's author of several books and has won awards for his novels.
