Would love but…Execution (both text and narration) lacking

In so many ways, this material has a lot to offer. I really wish I could give this a better ranking. As good as the story and context is, it really needed more co-text all around. I have over 600 titles in my library, and this is one of a few that I found difficult to follow. I was also very disappointed in the narration. I understand the need for “flat” for the MMC and, in fact, it is needed, but this was not the right casting for a mostly “flat” vocal performance. As for the MFC, her voice alone took this down. If you like the voice of Eve in the Lucifer show, you’ll be fine, but for me it’s a hard voice to stomach for a main character.

I just finished reading 'The Cute Psycho: A Dark Mafia Romance' and this book will stay with me. The story is raw, brutal and real. Vlad is a morally gray broken hero who will capture your heart (maybe literally) and Sisi is an ex-nun with a dark past. Their chemistry is electrifying and addictive. But be warned, this book deals with some heavy themes (check trigger warnings)and has a cliffhanger ending that will leave you desperate for more. If you're a fan of dark romance, you need to meet Vlad and Sisi. Just be prepared for a wild ride. Just… brace yourself.

The Nun and The Killer

I loved every minute of this book. Vlad’s childhood is so sad. I can't imagine what it would be like to be in his mind. Assisi’s childhood is also very sad. Sisi calming Vlad’s mind when he is in chaos is so poetic. This was definitely a very dark book, so you should definitely pay attention to the trigger warning. However, I laughed, cried and felt for both the main characters. The ending was so sad and an absolutely cliffhanger. Molly Briar and Hector Carrillo really did any amazing job bringing this book to life. I can't wait to hear more of Vlad and Sisi’s story.

Dark & Emotional

I read My Cute Psych0 back in February. But I must say that listening to the audiobook brings this story to a different level. I would do a disservice by saying something as cliché as the audiobook brings it to life. Molly Briar’s narration of Sisi brought more emotion into the character. Several scenes stood out when I read it as an ARC. Some were dark and heartbreaking, but listening to the book brought different feelings. It wasn’t just a dark and painful scene; through the narration, I could feel what Vlad and Sisi were going through.
