I listened to this with my adult son who’s been struggling to stay focused since college, and honestly, it was one of the first things that actually made him feel understood. The part that broke down how to manage distractions with simple systems (like the paper vs. digital checklist stuff) was especially helpful—we even went out and got him a planner the next day. I liked that it didn’t talk down or make excuses; it just gave real tips that actually fit how his brain works. I’ve seen him feeling less overwhelmed, and for that alone, I’m really glad we gave it a try.

I got this for my partner because there are so few resources that focus on men and I think this is why he listened. I listened along too and I picked up quite a few things. It manages to explain ADHD in a way made sense to us both, and we actually recognised a lot of our own habits without judging ourselves either.
Some of the reminders on managing energy, not just time, really helped as did the way it approached communication. I can definitely recommend listening with your partner if you can, but you don't need to. There are just so many great tools here that it will stay with you.

The book encourages leveraging the powers of a busy ADHD mind instead of solely trying to manage it, and it never makes you feel inferior, which I really appreciated. There are many books on the market that deal with ADHD, but this one offers more useful and practical tools and tips. The narration's engaging and motivating voice also contributed to the book's content, which was relatable and could be easily applied to everyday life without evoking any resistance. I highly recommend it

This didn’t feel like advice from a stranger—it felt like someone who’s lived in my brain and finally handed me the manual. The focus hacks were actually doable, not some “just try harder” nonsense. The section on impulse control made me pause—I saw my habits clearly for the first time. It’s not about becoming perfect, it’s about learning to steer your brain instead of fighting it. I finished this feeling seen, capable, and—for once—focused on what’s ahead.

Finally felt seen and equipped
