In Fiasco, Kentucky, there is one rule: never fall for a Foxx brother.

Any woman who did, ended up dead. It wasn’t just a rumor. It was my reality. I buried my wife along with too many secrets surrounding the night she died.

Now, I’m a single dad with two priorities above everything else: raising my two girls and making great bourbon.

But when Faye Calloway returns after I ran her out of my small town—looking like a fantasy on stage and nothing like the cop she was trained to be—I know for a fact that she’s hiding more secrets than the one she blackmailed me to keep.

While everyone is focused on the teasingly beautiful burlesque dancer, I’m distracted by the woman with a hidden agenda. The smart-mouth, who says what she wants. And the instigator, who prefers a very specific way to drink her bourbon.

But as secrets begin to unravel, I realize she’s fiercely protective of the ones she loves. When she puts herself in danger to right the past, the rules stop mattering.

Only two things have the power to keep my family from falling apart and losing the woman I love—bourbon and secrets.

I have to say I loved this book through every page! Victoria brings you a great mix of tropes and delivers them in the best ways. You get the single dad, a burlesque dancer, a small age gap, and so many secrets with bourbon tastings that turn into so much more!

Lincoln is the single dad that is everything you want in a man. He is a lover, fighter, protector, and so dang sweet with the ladies in his life. The man has the best heart, and I swooned over this man!
Faye is trying to keep the secrets that she ran from years ago. This woman is one of the strongest of the female characters I have read. I loved the way she would do anything to keep her family safe! But when she returns home, she gets more than some bourbon!

Lee Samuels and Megan Wicks delivers this book to your ears in the most perfect way. I was hooked with the story, but I was captured by the duet narration.
Lee Samuels is always one I liked, but this has to be his best work. He has perfected the voice of Lincoln and the other men in this book. I loved the gruff voice he had when narrating this one.
Megan Wicks is amazing! Her raspy voice was perfect for Faye! She definitely was the best choice for this character. Even Megan's charisma came through as Faye dazzled people with her shows.

This series is already a favorite of mine, and I can't wait to get to the next book! Victoria is also an author I will go back and read her backlist!!

This is single dad Lincoln and burlesque dancer and private eye Faye Calloway’s story set in Fiasco, Kentucky and one I thoroughly enjoyed.

There were equal parts of suspense and romance which made for an entertaining read/listen.

From the first chapter I was hooked and I was on the edge of my seat whilst reading/listening.

I enjoyed the banter between all the brothers, it added an additional layer to the story. As did Linc’s daughters who at times stole the book.

I love the relationships they have with their uncles and the one they developed with Faye melted my heart.

Lee Samuels and Megan Wicks did a good job of narrating the characters in a variety of voices and brought the story to life for me, doing justice to the story that the author created. Both their voices were easy to listen to and I found myself invested in their performances.

Great story and narration

Goodness gracious, I'm obsessed with this series!!

Lincoln, the single dad (with glasses! HELLLOOOO!), and Faye, the burlesque dancer. What a combination! These two people together were absolute fire! 🔥 Faye is such a strong, confident FMC. Hadley had a girl crush on her and I can totally see why! Lincoln didn't stand a chance against her. He tried holding back but very much failed. I loved Lincoln's girls too! They were so much fun. This book was fun and sexy and filled with great banter and suspense too. I am seriously intrigued by Ace & Hadley and cannot wait to read the 3rd one!

Whew, what a ride that was! Victoria Wilder knows how to write a damn good book. And let me tell you, I loved Bourbon and Lies, Bourbon and Secrets is JUST as good, if not even better! Ohh and the tidbits we got of Ace…dear gawd I can’t wait to read his book! 🔥 Wilder has a way of weaving tension and mystery in a story, leaving you feeling ALL THE THINGS, and yet wanting SO much more. Like, to live in Fiasco, Kentucky with The Bourbon Boys. 😅 PLUS, we were treated to an absolute delightful and sexy narrative performance by new-to-me Lee Samuels and Megan Wicks. O.M.G. They were EVERYTHING!

The Foxx brothers are cursed. That curse rears its ugly head at the beginning of this story, on a fateful night that Faye Calloway and Lincoln Foxx crossed paths in the dark of night. It was this encounter that sent Faye fleeing Fiasco. Years later Faye returns, leaving Lincoln fuming at her reappearance. Angry though he may be, he can’t help the undeniable attraction he has toward Faye. She has dreaded encountering the glasses wearing Foxx, but the pull towards him is not something that can be ignored. The tension between them is palpable, and every interaction they have is firecracker hot.

Oh my, I really enjoyed this story! Lincoln and Faye had that perfect amount of hate-to-love, semi-“slow burn but actually not,” that made this so much fun to read. The build up was great, the truths that unraveled, the shocking twists and turns, all of it had me devouring this book in two days. If I can’t stop thinking about the book and consume it in as little time as possible, then it’s a five star for me! That is my favorite type of book! Lincoln is such a great dad, seeing his love for his daughters and the length he goes to for them? Gah. So sweet. And Faye, she is fierce. She is protective. She is selfless. She is a freaking badass. How she is with everyone around her, but especially Lincoln’s girls? No wonder he fell so hard!

This is my first time listening to Lee Samuels and Megan Wicks, and I have to say, I’m now fans of both of them! Samuels range may not vary to much between the characters, but you KNOW who it is by the intensity of the characters. That he performed in droves! There couldn’t be anyone else who could’ve been a better Lincoln! He embodied him, heart and soul! And Wicks, my gosh, her sultry voice was absolute perfection for the sultry Faye Calloway. I was blown away by her. She fit the part so well, I felt like Faye herself was in my AirPods speaking. Samuel and Wicks were perfectly cast and each gave an incredible performance! I can’t wait to hear more from them!

I can’t thank Victoria Wilder and HomeCookedBooks enough for allowing me to listen and review this title. I feel so privileged to be able to do this. This book was so well written and narrated. I am in awe of the world and characters Wilder created. I NEED more Foxx and Fiasco in my life! Seriously, everyone NEEDS this series in their life! And I still can’t get over the artwork on the covers. Talk about STUNNING!

🥃“Is that a knife strapped to your leg?” She quirks an eyebrow. “Did you just think I was happy to see you, Foxx?”
🍑“See, Ace, I never thought I’d need to explain this to grown-ass men. But you and that one over there”—I nod to Lincoln. He crosses his arms and glares at me—“ should know that most women nowadays don’t lead their lives based on the expectations of men. Maybe if you realized that, then you might walk around less surprised by our choices and more aware of yours.”
🥃“Beg me for my fingers, Peach.”
🍑“You don’t want a nice girl right now, Foxx.” “What do I want, then, hmm?” A small moan crawls up her throat as she says, “You want someone to tell you to be a good boy and do what you’re told.”
🥃“You sound so pretty when you’re pissed off and moaning for me.”
🍑“You’re pretty when you’re pissed off too, Foxx. Too bad I couldn’t get you to moan for me this time.”
🥃“I know you’re watching me walk away,” I call out as I turn my head to the side. “Hard not to when you consider how much I liked watching you c*me,”
🍑“You call me Peach like I’m sweet, but Foxx, you know better. I’m the furthest thing from sweet.” “See, that’s where you’re wrong.” I yank her hips forward. The move jerks her closer and forces her chest to press into mine. “I’ve never tasted anything as sweet as what you dripped all over my fingers.”

Fantastic romantic suspense!! Amazing narrator combo!
