A few days before Daniel Haze is to be married, he and Jason Redmond are drawn into society’s sordid underbelly when the son of Essex’s most violent crime boss is found dead in an ancient wood. They must wade through a long list of suspects to determine who hunted down Tristan Carmichael and murdered him in a way that was surely a message to his powerful father.

With members of the criminal organization infighting to gain control, Jason and Daniel must solve the case before there are more casualties—including Daniel’s wedding.

Redmond and Haze were a a wonderful, well written series. Both of the main characters, have grown and matured, each in their own way and the friendship between these two different men, has also grown and evolved, into a strong and lasting relationship.
I’m always sad when the books come to an end.
Now, the reader, Alex Lee.
I’m sure she’s a great reader, for some but not for me. Her reading is whispery and breathy. Her cadence is good but she reduced both characters to weak voiced men.
Did not care for Alex Lee’s performance at all.
Why, when the two main characters are men, is this series read by women? Wendy Wolfson read them a bit better but when they changed to Alex Lee, I kept hoping they would finally get a male reader.
Alex Lee doesn’t even do the female characters any justice, plus all the accents, particularly the so called American accents are horrendous.
I’ll continue the series but sure would like a different reader.

I enjoy the friendship between Jason and Daniel as it grows, acknowledging their differences and challenges. I like that the characters get to grow and change, and always get the culprit!

Great next installment, a little gritty
