Courtney has been in an intense relationship with ice-cream. Every evening since her ex-boyfriend, Jake, dumped her for the perfect, smart, and rich Sonja, someone Courtney could never best, Courtney watches TV and eats her ice cream.
Jake had been her boyfriend since they were kids in high school. Courtney loved him with all her might, and it breaks her heart that he didn’t love her as much as she loved him.

Mourning times are six weeks when someone dies, he tells her before he huffs off.
Spenser is upset, but he fell in love with Courtney the second she walked into the bar, so he isn’t about to quit.
He works his way into her life only to end up in the friend zone, but he makes it clear that he loves her, and that if they ever end up in bed, he will consider them engaged to be married.
As soon as they start to realize that they are falling in love, Courtney’s ex-boyfriend shows up wanting Courtney back.
But Spenser sees himself as an engaged man, and he is willing to fight for the woman he loves.
