An unforgettable new timeslip rom-com bursting with hilarity, sizzling chemistry, and '90s nostalgia!

Kate Kendrick is having an epically bad day when a glowing Blockbuster catches her eye on the commute home. She could have sworn there was an abandoned building there just yesterday, and didn't Blockbuster go out of business years ago? Curiosity piqued, she steps inside the bustling store and whoosh! She's transported back to the year 1999 with no idea how to get back to her old life.

Jordan Dale works at the One Hour Photo Processing Shop next to Blockbuster, and he can't believe it when their paths cross. A time traveler himself, he's been living in the '90s for a while now, and this is the first time he's met anyone else from the future he's been all too happy to escape. As he helps Kate adjust to their new reality, sparks fly. Trouble is, Kate desperately wants to go back to her time while Jordan wants to stay. Will they find their happily ever after in the past or the present, and what if the choice isn't theirs to make?

I almost didn't listen to this but man am I glad that I decided to! Not only did it make me laugh cry(for different reasons) and feel somber at times, the reading was perfection. Here's a bit of my ego speaking I guess but I did figure out the he was taking her to cinnabon. lol. 🤣😝 Yes, I'm proud of it. 🤏🤪 Not generally a "rom com" type of person this 1 was definitely worth it. Maybe it's due to the fact that I grew up in the 80's & 90's myself & all of the 90's references (that I remember WELL &foundly) just as the characters do/did but as well ... and this IS down the rabbit hole for sure... I have actually experienced a few of the so called "glitches" myself, making me wonder if,in fact this could possibly be a true story. Disguised as "fiction". 🤔. In my humble opinion, most ppl might be surprised to find out how many movies, stories etc actually ARE true that are labeled otherwise.
Either way, this is a FABULOUSLY WRITTEN book/audiobook and I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend it. ESPECIALLY if your "from" the 90"s era. 🙏❤️

SO F'N GOOD! & A possible true story?🤔

This book was so tender at times and also had me laughing out loud. It's a perfect and easy listen for anyone who remembers what life was like before all the crazy technology and what it was like to connect with people on a deeper level... highly recommended.

Depth and funny!

This was such a fun listen, the nostalgia was REAL. I could picture or hear EVERY SINGLE reference to that period in time and it was absolutely fantastic. Kate and Jordans story really made me think about the love and grace we show ourselves, and how that affects our lives and our relationships. We’re all going through something, some worse than others, and sometimes we just want to hide from the world. This book showed how opening yourself to your feelings, grief and frustrations and dealing with them head on is the healthiest way to live and love and move on to the next adventure life has to offer.
Perfect pallet cleanser. 10/10 the narration couldn’t have been better!!

Take me back to 1999!!!

This book was about 1999 so you think it would be for millennials, but the mentality was definitely more GenZ. Not very sophisticated content. Not that Gen Z can’t be sophisticated, this was just for really young people. It’s sad that the author never really explained what was going on, especially with Ziggy. Do we really need to know every time the same couple has sex? And why must we continually use God’s name in vain? Pretty disappointing actually. The sex scenes were not super graphic. The foul language was low moderate. It’s just that grinding word “GD” that literally 40% of Americans fine defensive? Why offend your audience even if it’s a number lower than that? I’m glad it was not a nine hour book! I would’ve bailed on it. Considering the lack of story development- 3 1/2 hours probably would’ve been enough to wrap this one up…without becoming bored.

Sophistication score – low
