This freaking book!

Chefs kiss! New interesting plot, narrated by my absolute favorite Laura Horowitz. One of my very few five star reads this year.

Exactly the kind of plot I've been looking for to pull me out of my slump. The only thing that slightly pulled me out of the story was the female performance of Zahariev and the male performance of Zahariev were quite mismatched. Otherwise, loved everything about this book and I CANT WAIT to get the next part of their story.

excellent narrator

love Laura Horowitz as the female narrator, such a great listen. the story is fast paced and the love interest is a slow burn which is worth the wait and the best part of the story. the story itself has promise but found certain things with the plot to be a tad bit confusing. will still read book 2.

Romantasy done right!!

This is exactly what I mean when I say Romantasy done right! Lilith is such a strong FMC—you can’t help but root for her the entire way through. The slow burn? Absolute perfection. The banter? Chef’s kiss! The balance between the real world and fantasy elements is flawless, making it impossible to put down. I’m completely obsessed and already counting the days until book two! 💀🔥📚

MMC VA needs some work

Literally only here to review the performance. The story was A+ for me.

I swear the Male VA changed his mind on how he wanted Zahariev to sound. I hope that he hones in on one way moving forward bc if there’s one way to take a reader out of a story it’s sounding different from chapter to chapter. Even the way he says his own name is in contradiction to the rest of the way he would sound for that character. The female VA did well. She would say Zahariev differently which I would pick up on but hey I’m that kind of listener I guess, I need consistency.

FYI there’s no miscommunication in this romance
