Redundant verbiage might be a deal breaker

I've listened to all of Cartmels books here on Amazon and had hours of pleasure. However in the last Vinyl Detective and this book he seems to have develop some kind of obsessive compulsive 'periodically make characters repeat one another, with or without rephrasing'. Some people talk like this, with Tinkler it's a perfect quasi annoying affection that's in character; but everyone doesn't do it all the time. Usually it's a signal that the person doesn't want to answer something. Otherwise frankly people don't do this because it's irritating. I can't stop listening to this story because it's wonderful as usual but I feel like my attention is being disrespected. Also, not sure about this, but I feel the pattern of predictable reiteration is nudging the narrator into autopilot inflection. Completely understandable. Please please please Andrew Cartmel, or his editor, don't do this in future books! Maybe use an AI tool to tag redundancies?

Fun new book from Andrew Cartmel

I have loved the Vinyl Detective since it first came out - and all the books in the series - delightful. At first I was hesitant about the paperback sleuth, but am now enjoying it almost as much as the vinyl detective. I can't understand why this writer, Andrew Cartmel, isn't a constant best seller. Lots to love, nothing to dislike - the guy can write, plot, and create appealing characters.
