Great Opening.

This is a great introduction to this series. The world building and story foundation are excellent. The main characters are introduced, and information about them emerges organically. Action is paced and not forced. Overall, great offering.

narrators save the day

To be fair, it's a good book. It just had a few sequences that had me groaning for all the wrong reasons. The more feral and masculine perspective was well done overall, even as you kinda chuckle at some standard romantasy phrases arrive in all their glory.

I think it was worth the time. The novelty and the high quality steam was very enjoyable, the overall story and inconsistent pace dragged it down for me. Characters overall lack depth, they are poorly fleshed out and shallow, there are a few attempts, but just come over as forced and poorly timed. Honestly a shame, loved the premise and respectable try.

This was a lot of fun and I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Looking forward to the next one.

Wonderful writing and a fun story. I'd love more healer heroes. Narrators were good too.

Too many flowering words

While the story was good, the author seemed determined to put in as many metaphors as possible. This really slowed down the pace of the story. I understand using a single metaphor, but three to describe the same thing? I think the author got caught up in their own imagery instead of focusing on the pace and rhythm of the plot.
