For decades, the extraterrestrials watched and studied us. The public called their ships UFOs, short for Unidentified Flying Objects. The government, always denying the truth, secretly called them what they knew the ships were: extraterrestrial vehicles that they referred to as EVs. When the aliens finally chose to reveal themselves, it wasn’t that first contact that humanity feared; it was the unexpected warning the aliens brought with them. The people of Earth had only nine months to prepare for an extinction-level invasion by a powerful enemy. With that message came a plea for the people of Earth to accept an alliance with them to resist these invaders who would soon threaten their world, too. As allies, they would provide the world with the fighter ships and the highly advanced technology needed to resist their common enemy if, in turn, the world’s nations would provide and develop fighting astro-aviators to fly those ships. There was no time to waste; enemy scout ships were already inside Earth’s solar system. A small group of Earth’s defenders, captured by an intruding enemy ship and unable to return to Earth, are burdened with finding out which extraterrestrial race was the true enemy or whether both were. The fate of humanity rested on the answer.
On Earth, a defense organization is quickly formed. Using gifted technology and ships, its leadership struggles against time to train enough astro-aviators needed to protect the planet and to develop strategies to defend against the many possible ways an attack could come from out of the vastness of the solar system. The odds and time were against them.
