The gods want her dead … Hades will bury them.

You’d think I’d have learned by now:

Don’t mouth off to deities.

Don’t fall for the King of the Underworld.

And definitely don’t get dragged into a divine death match where I’m the cursed mortal prize.

But here I am―trapped in Tartarus, humanity’s worst pit stop, squaring off against monsters who make the gods look merciful. Titans, twisted by centuries of rage and ruin, are sealed behind seven ancient locks.

And guess what?

I'm the key.

To escape, I’ll have to survive every horrifying trial they throw at me.

To win, I might have to become something the gods never saw coming.

Oh, and Hades?

He's about to break every rule the gods ever wrote.

Because to save me … the god of death will burn the world.

But if I break free? So do the Titans.

And the world won’t just suffer―it'll beg for the end.

I thought Games Gods Play was amazing, a true 5 ⭐️ read, but The Things Gods Break has convinced me that this series is officially A GOD TIER SERIES.

Abigail Owen’s writes ‘Games & Trials’ like her life is on the line, and I felt every emotion that was poured into these words and felt them down to my soul.

The audio actors were incredible narrators and their voices were the perfect choices for the characters.

✨Truly top books for 2025! ✨

I liked the turn of the story. I do wonder if I’m right about the overall villain.

Only part I didn’t like was the impromptu sex scene that feels misplaced during the climax of the story. It feels like it was forced and it make that section of the story seem forced

Enjoyable

Loved the voice actors! They brought the story to life!! Was a non stop listen!! I could listen to Tom for hours! I hope next book he gets more speaking time. The plot was good it is cross between Doctor Who and the Time Travelers wife. But I will tell you don’t listen to the last two chapters. They make no sense and doesn’t follow the story. Was like writer had a block or needed to wrap up quickly. Because it doesn’t match the whole story line at all…

Amazing Performance

Love the story but most of it was a little slow then the last 3 chapters started getting sooo good then …. The End. Very rude cliffhanger.

Little slow but still in love

ARC Review/ Aubiobook review by Abigail Owens

Holy moly, Abigail, how am I supposed to go on after that ending? The emotional roller coaster this book took me on was phenomenal. I haven’t cried this much over a story in a long time, and every bit of it was worth it. The journey to that final chapter was nothing short of epic, filled with heartbreak, healing, and moments that left me breathless.

This world, these characters, the depth of emotion, it all hit me right in the chest. Lyra’s strength and vulnerability were beautifully written, and Hades… oh, Hades. His point of view added such a powerful layer to the story, showing the weight he carries and the tenderness that drives him.

And let’s talk about the audiobook, because wow. Piper Goodeve and Tim Kiteley absolutely brought this story to life. Piper delivered every ounce of emotion Lyra felt, and Tim’s performance as Hades was incredible. His voice added such raw depth and intensity to the story that I found myself completely immersed from start to finish.

I honestly can’t gush enough about this series. It’s one of those rare ones that stays with you long after you’ve finished, the kind that reminds you why you fell in love with reading in the first place.

Epic adventure
