A Warhammer Chronicles Audiobook

In the city of Middenheim, a company of Knights of the White Wolf stand ready to defend their realm from the darkness.

LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE

Wage war alongside the rowdy, bawdy, and dedicated knights who worship the wolf god and stand between Middenheim and destruction.

THE STORY

Corrupted powers gather around the ancient mountaintop fortress of Middenheim, the City of the White Wolf. Danger has arisen, not at the embattled borders of the Empire, but at the beating heart itself. Only the noble Templar Knights of Ulric can drive out the darkness, but they will need unlikely help to do it. A lowly thief, a devout servant of Morr, and the Hammers of Ulric gather to defend the city.

For if Middenheim falls, the Empire falls with it.

Written by Dan Abnett, Nik Vincent, and James Wallis. Narrated by Andrew James Spooner. Runtime 14 hours and 25 minutes approx.

This book is everything you could ask for in a warhammer book, just don''t expect everything to make sense. Also, I suspect the narrator does a lot to alleviate the less than perfect writing.

I was slightly annoyed at the last minute love triangle (even rectangle) which comes after way too little relationship development and ends ambiguously enough to make you wonder why they put it in there in the first place.

Great except for the last minute love triang

Feels like three intertwined stories that come together with some epic twists under a strong performance. Highly recommended if you are a fan of Warhammer Fantasy - especially the Empire faction.

Loved this book!

loved it, some parts do get a bit slow, but overall absolute blast to listen to. really loved the old world setting without having to hear "chaos this chaos that" hopefully we get many more adaptions of the old world novels

absolutely great listen.

This was a really great collection of short stories from different characters in different styles, that really came together towards the end to form one cohesive narrative. I really enjoyed it so much more than I thought I would and was glad I gave it a listen. If I were to be critical, the only lapse I can find is that the story is predictable at times. Which can be common amongst old world stories. Of course we know the guy whose character trait is off-tuned whistling probably isn’t going to last long, but part of the fun is knowing who is going to be monster fodder. That said the story did surprise me at times and took a lot of twists and turns in new directions that still felt cohesive despite the different authors and varied styles. Overall, this was a really solid listen, and I really enjoyed it. I would recommend to anyone who likes the empire and Warhammer fantasy, the old world.

Excellent collection of the Old World!
