Imagining What the Death of St. Joseph May Have Been Like

The following story is a work of fiction. It is the result of the personal prayer and meditation by the author that occurred one year on the Solemnity of St Joseph, Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which falls on March 19 every year in the Catholic liturgical calendar.

In a very moving and touching way, Kevin O’Neill imagines in great detail what the death of St. Joseph may have been like with Mary and Jesus at his bedside; and how Jesus and Mary interacted with each other. What Kevin has written can serve as material for one to meditate on in one's personal prayer, thus drawing closer to the Holy Family: Jesus, Mary, and Joseph.

I liked hearing about Jesus taking over Joseph’s workshop while Joseph was ill and accepting that it was Joseph time to go to the Father and that Jesus time will come later.
