Jacob Ellington

I've been bred for success.

As the CFO of my father's wealth management firm, I know exactly what's expected of me and the image I must uphold. To the outside world, my long-term girlfriend and I are beautiful, powerful, successful… and rich.

However, the suit I wear hides more than my cut physique. Living a lie has been the norm since I was a teenager. Although not ideal, I have a great woman by my side and a promising future. Everything is as it should be.

Until I cross paths with Dylan Ryder.

One look and everything I've worked so hard to conceal comes rushing to the surface. One taste and I'm ready to burn my life as I know it to the ground.

Dylan Ryder

I'm used to being judged.

My Mexican-American heritage earns me some looks, my tattoos earn me others, and of course, being on a date with another man ensures whoever wasn't staring because of the first two things, definitely is now.

But I haven't been on a date in a while.

With my family's automotive shop under attack from vandals, I'm working longer hours to try to make ends meet as business keeps waning. So, when I crumple the front-end of a Maserati at the grocery store, I really don't have the time or money to deal with it. But knowing it's the right thing to do, I offer to fix it anyway.

Wholly unprepared for the onslaught of lust as Jacob Ellington enters my life, I struggle to maintain control. However, as our paths continue to cross, I become unsure if I even want control anymore.

And when our mouths inevitably collide, he lights my world on fire.

Literally.

Dylan and Jake were just as hot in audio as they were when I eyeball read. Liam and Logan truly brought these guys to life and I just adored them! The Spanish was great and I truly appreciated the dynamic between classes. Both of these men had hurdles to overcome and watching them do it together was so good!

Hot hot hot

I really loved the characters, the narration was great. I really got into the storyline, it didn't seem to drag and lose my attention. I would definitely recommend this book.

Jillian D. Wray is a new to me author and after listening to this title I totally dig her style. The heat between Jake and Dill was intense from the get-go and both men are the type that I would love to have in my life - and Jake? Is there anything that man couldn't do? CFO by day, firefighter by night and he is totally self aware for a wealthy young white man and has empathy for those who are not like him - in a nutshell he is what we would call "woke" had this word not been demonized by right-wingers in U.S. politics. I was worried about Dill for a moment though: his refusal to give BJs or be penetrated because of his homophobic grandfathers views that this was emasculating. But when he finally got his head out of his @$$ then all was well. I loved the mystery involving the vandalism surrounding the burgeoning love story so this was a satisfying m/m contemporary romance for me. The ooooonly issue is that Dill was written to have a spanish accent - which Liam DiCosimo did a good impression of when he listened to Dill from his own Jake's POV. Logan Anare - although a very talented performer - was not the best performer for this title because he is unable to affect a spanish accent at all...but I didn't mind or let this keep me from enjoying the title.

4.5 Starz - worthy of a repeat listen

Would have liked this if the 24 year old girl that was being used and cheated on wasn’t the MAIN villain.

Awful female characters
