Returning to Midtown Memorial Hospital was never part of my plan.

But now that I’m back in Atlanta, I’m determined to show everyone that I’ve grown. That I’ve changed. That I’m not the same self-absorbed playboy they remember.

So I start with my ex-best friend, Parker Winters, expecting him to be the hardest shell to crack. But I’m wrong. Winning him over is easy compared to the one person who has always seen right through me—his youngest sister.

Caroline Winters is ambitious, fiercely independent, and even more stunning than I remember. She’s also ten years younger, deep in the trenches of medical school, and has no plans to give me a real chance . . . or so she tells herself.

But as a man who gave up his dream surgical fellowship to raise his son on his own, I know better than anyone that both plans and people can change. And sometimes, they change for the better.

We are back at Midtown Memorial for the last and final time. I’m so sad this series is over, but happy we got to experience Caroline and Weston’s love story.

Weston (Wes) Southerland didn’t have the best reputation earlier in the series. He was known as the playboy whose antics completely ruined his relationships. This book gave us a different side of Wes and was the redemption arc he needed.

Caroline and Wes had a complicated history, which made it hard for her to trust him when he came back into her life. I loved watching the walls around her heart slowly come down, and how vulnerable she was with Wes. He became her safe space, which is exactly what she needed. Of course, having little Carter (Wes’s son) around with his baby giggles and grabby hands made everything so much sweeter.

The found family element in this series has been a highlight for me. I adore the Midtown Memorial crew and love how they’ve shown up for each other. I love when they are all together, and it was fun getting updates about how they are doing. Saying goodbye to these characters and the world Lexie created is bittersweet, but I enjoyed the journey.

Narration:
Angelina Rocca and Ash Beverly perform this audiobook in duet, and it was a wonderful listening experience. They were the perfect voices for the characters, and really brought them to life. I could feel all of the emotions elicited by the growth and healing each character experienced.

Lexie really said “This is the grand finale”. I love a villain redemption story, and MAN, did Lexie do that here. Wes has been a side character that I wasn’t sure I could ever like, but here we are, engaged to be married. I’m in love. No one tell my husband. If there was anyone that could tame Caroline, it was Wes. And if there was anyone that could love and support Carter and Wes unconditionally, it was Caroline. Truly a perfect ending to one of my favorite series. I love how vulnerable, honest, and relatable their struggles are. I felt every single doubt Caroline went through when struggling with becoming a mom. I’ve loved every book in this series, but this one is special. It was even better the second time and with Ash Beverly and Angelina Rocca narrating. This duet audio made of of my favorite books even better, if that’s possible! I already miss Midtown Memorial!

Can’t believe it’s the end. The end of the series, but it’s never goodbye. 🥹 I’ll be carrying these characters with me for a long time.

This series has been absolutely incredible to listen to on audio. All of the narrators absolutely knocked their performances out of the park. Amazing and totally satisfying to listen to.

Angelina Rocca and Ash Beverly on this audio, however, has been my favorite of the series. These two played these characters perfectly, and I was so immersed and locked in until the very end. 😍😍 Highly recommend this entire series on audio!!

Not only was this audio my favorite, but Weston and Caroline’s story has been my favorite too. I’m such a sucker for a single dad romance, and Weston in his daddy moments had me swooningggg. What’s really fun about these books, is that they safely explore k!nks, with consent and check-ins. It’s just the characters opening themselves up to what they truly want and trusting their partner to take them to new heights. I really enjoyed the switch off in dynamics between Weston and Caroline, these two together was just downright hot and their chemistry was explosive.

I can see how much Lexie has grown as an author over the course of the series, and I’m so so excited to see what’s next!!

What can I say other than there is something so attractive about a man that is willing to step outside his comfort zone and put a woman’s needs and wants first. I was really impressed by the amount of research Wes did so he could explore the world of BDSM with Caroline. This man is the definition of the phrase “if he wanted to he would.” Wes is that perfect blend of cinnamon roll man and commanding dom. Caroline is a definite spit fire that isn’t afraid to speak her mind. Her banter with Wes was hilarious! These two are a match made in heaven! The spicy moments between Wes and Caroline were exquisite and achingly sensual. When these two commit, they COMMIT! Narrators Angelina Rocca and Ash Beverly gave an amazing lip biting performance. These two provided an emotional, sensual, and gratifying experience!

Dr. Attending was such a great way to end this series and I loved the glimpses of past characters and their interactions.

I loved Weston and Caroline. Their interactions were fun and funny and I loved how Caroline fell for Carter right from the start and was such a great character. This story had so many heartfelt moments that really showed how great Weston is as a dad, but also how accepting Caroline is and how sweet they were together.

The depth of these characters really shined through as he story progresses and I loved how they were able to get to their happily ever after. Their chemistry was clear and explosive and so incredible and they were so perfect together.

On audio, Angelina Rocca and Ash Beverly really brought this one home. The narration captured the heartwarming and difficult emotional growth that the characters go through, but also brought in so much heat and chemistry that it was such an enjoyable story to listen to.
