Love this closed door hockey romance!

This was a fantastic audio book! The dual narration was great! Both narrators were fantastic. I loved Noah and his protectiveness, and Allie was a character I couldn’t help but root for. There is quite a bit of mild swearing, but fit the hockey player characters. Only kissing on page with one fade to black scene to end the book. Innuendo throughout.

The whole story was so well done!! I will be rereading this forever!! Leah Brunner and Katie Bailey are some of my favorite authors and this matchup was everything I wanted it to be and more!

Not exactly what I expected

I LOVE Katie Bailey. Leah Brunner was new to me.
I saw this book was about Allegra- the fiesty girl in a couple of Katie Bailey’s books- I pre-ordered it.
I was looking forward to a great read. And, well, it waaaaassss…. But- they didn’t swear, it’s actually a joke in the book-The roommates’ sticker chart for swearing. But they said puck in its place. And pretty often.
It’s closed door, BUT.. there is a lot of casual sex implied. A lot of innuendos. A ton of talk about it.
BUT- it’s probably closer to actual reality.
That said- the story is great! There is a lot going on with both the main characters (and what I think is some great foreshadowing for future books about the other two roommates)!
This book deals with two hard topics- hard to deal with in the real word.
Maybe spoilers; I’m just gonna talk here:
Bullying and sexual assault. Both topics are hard to conquer. The realities are dealt with- the shame. The helplessness. The lack of outsiders understanding/believing.
The reality of the victim being vilified-blamed.
I loved this book because people stand up together here. Because the bad guy gets some little bit back.
Because of love, respect, protection between characters. I love that.
It’s a really good story. Made me go find the books by Leah Brunner that pre- this one.
Worth the read.
