A retirement aged couple investigates abuse of natural resources and disappearance of a WDFW officer. They expose crimes and collect evidence but have no idea how dangerous are the perpetrators.
Outdoors enthusiasts sense something amiss in Washington State. Diverse rumors circulate including a sasquatch sighting, missing resident orcas, unexplained tree stumps, and the disappearance of a wildlife officer. But nobody has definite answers to explain their concerns.
Dave Parker is in Seattle testifying as a forensic accountant in a criminal fraud trial. His wife, Katie, has taken the opportunity to accompany him along with their son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren for a family vacation. After learning of the Parkers’ history solving mysteries and identifying culprits, outdoors advocates approach them for help. Katie, eager for another challenge, readily promises to investigate. Their son and daughter-in-law quickly join her, and Dave reluctantly agrees.
Vague and disparate reports lead to a clue deep in the Olympic Mountains. The Parkers pose as tourists to discover criminal poaching and wildlife trafficking by a ruthless antigovernment militia. In cooperation with Washington’s Department of Fish and Wildlife, the Parkers expose serious crimes and collect evidence. But they have no idea how dangerous the perpetrators are.
