Badass female protagonist!

I've read all of Gilmore's books and this is the first one with a different point of view. We still get the same hilarious banter and characters but this book has a new narrator in Rita Amparita. I thought she did a fantastic job giving life to Doc Kelly, Willa Knightly and the myriad of other characters that Gilmore has created. It's a great mashup of dark humor, action and urban fantasy. I had several laugh out loud moments at Gilmore's humor and thought it was a great listen overall.

Storyline and the voice actress

Ok - so I actually read the paperback when this book first came out. It was a fantastic read! It went by in a flash because I was enthralled with the characters and the storyline! When it came out on Audible I HAD to listen - and I was NOT disappointed! The voice actress hits it out of the park and makes me want to keep driving (I listen to books while I drive). I have found myself sitting a little too long in the parking lot at work each morning while listening to Harbingers Hex. If you enjoy listening to urban fantasy-type books with strong lead characters who are made stronger by their support characters - this book is for you! Doc Kelly is BAD-*SS and her side-kicks make me laugh out loud!! A great book to read when you want to get away from life’s reality for a short while! Thank you Steve Gilmore for giving Erin (Doc) Kelly her own book series! I can’t WAIT for book two!
