I really like this author and this series.

I like the characters. I’m rooting for them, I want to read more about them. The courthouse portions are interesting. I’ll definitely get the next book in this series.

Great narrator & story

I really like this series and the narrator is easy to listen to. The stories aren’t too violent and not a lot of foul language. I can’t wait for the next book to come out.

Fast paced

Another great legal drama in the Dean Lincoln series. I’ll definitely read the next book by this author.

A set-up for a wild ride...

South Carolina. Beautiful. Cultured. Inbred.
My Mom grew up in Columbia and Charleston. Her Dad's family had lived in the state since the 1700s, having immigrated from Ireland.

Even today, (2026), law school professors suggest to their graduating students not to bother seeking a job at a law firm in South Carolina unless their family has lived in that state for a long time.

It's a guess that a mere 25 years is considered a very short family history in South Carolina.

A recent high profile case in South Carolina of a murderous attorney who apparently hadn't had to be concerned his missteps or crimes would ever follow him because of his long family history in the state adds a bit of credence to that guess.

This knowledge makes the point of view and situation of the main character in Buried Lies fascinating.

The main character, Lincoln, (of course), is part of a South Carolina family with deep history in the state.

Yet, he chose to attend Chicago Law School and make his career in a firm right in downtown Chicago.

Having cut (& sharpened) his teeth in the 20 years since graduating law school there, he was soon to be made partner in the firm.

Partnership is offered to a lawyer at the top of their game: A sharp, deep thinking, highly intelligent and productive attorney, meaning diligent, hard working, persistent: winning.

Ah, but unexpectedly, he and his wife need to temporarily move back to South Carolina for family reasons. There, he joins the law firm of a family friend.

Thus the South Carolina legal community suddenly has a great white in their midst ...

I enjoyed the three books that I read I can't wait for the fourth one to come out the stories are great the outcomes in the courtroom I love it.
