One careless insult. A promise made to atone. She sought only her sisters’ happiness. He surrendered his heart instead. Their passion overcame duty and altered their lives.

When one of London’s most elusive bachelors insults Elizabeth Bennet at the village assembly, she calls him to account and extracts a promise that he will assist her two beloved sisters in making eligible matches. Seeking to make amends to this captivating young woman, he agrees. Yet when she leaves him behind to escape her fractious mother, he begins to comprehend what he has lost. It was love at first sight for him, though she possesses neither fortune nor connections and is tied to trade. But a passion fated will not be denied, and Mr. Darcy soon finds himself on a collision course with love.

Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy first cross paths in London, circa 1805: neither yet shaped by society’s expectations, both brimming with youthful expectations. Their acquaintance is brief, yet it leaves young Elizabeth’s heart quietly stirred.

From the moment they meet again, Elizabeth senses the depth behind Darcy’s gaze. Though she believes their world too unequal for hope, Darcy’s unexpected marriage proposal turns her expectations upside-down.

In this reimagining of Austen’s cherished classic, love blooms amid honor, duty, and quiet longing.
While Elizabeth and Darcy’s story lies at the center of this tender reimagining, each of the Bennet sisters must also find her own way.

Set against the genteel backdrop of Regency England, To Love And To Cherish weaves modest romantic innuendo with emotional intimacy. Readers who love heartfelt retellings with a touch of spice will be swept away by this elegant, character‑driven take on Elizabeth and Darcy’s timeless journey from first meeting to lasting union.
