Heart to blood, muscle to bone, tourist flesh above my own. It’s the bridgers’ directive: risk your own life to save tourists bridging to alternate worlds. Bridger Infinity Fowler has no qualms about the directive. Risking death is just what bridgers do. But now the earth is dying. Bridgers have a new directive—save as many humans as possible, even if some must be sacrificed in the process. Sacrificing lives is not what Infinity signed up for. Desmond Weaver, determined to help save the human species, has volunteered to be Infinity’s partner. He has ingenuity and grit, but is this enough to make it as a bridger? Their mission: bridge 718 refugees to a new world and establish a colony. If the world is occupied, avoid conflict and learn to coexist. Once bridging begins, there is no turning back. The new world is indeed occupied, but not by humans, and avoiding conflict isn’t so easy. As violence erupts, Infinity and Desmond realize they may have only one hope of saving the colony—sacrificing refugees they have sworn to protect. How far would you go to save the human species?

I really loved this audiobook. I had already read the book but the audiobook even more helps me visualize the new world. My mind’s image of Infinity and Desmond are even more vivid now.

Highly recommended for any sci-fi fan, or anyone who loves reading about alternate universes.

This book is quite a bit more active and the reason is in the story (Not giving out plotline). Infinity is not happy with the changes that are being made the the bridging program or the new man in harness. Narration is nicely done with various characters voices and entire storyline.

This is a great second book. Infinity and Desmond find themselves not taking tourists to visit alternate worlds for 36 hours. Now earth is dying and it is now their job to take people to an alternate world to establish colonies. The colony gets to decide what alternate world they want. Infinity tries to tell this colony that the world they chose is not viable for them to establish their colony. But they wanted to go anyway. This world did not have humans but a different life form . They have to live within a fenced in area because there is a group of huge creatures outside the fence that are always trying to break through the fence. When they look through the wooden fence and see the humans, they go crazy and break through the fence. Infinity and Desmond have to find a way to defeat these creatures and keep the others safe. The colonists find themselves fighting along with the life forms to defeat the creatures. In the end, over 200 of the colony have been killed. When Infinity and Desmond return to earth, they find out they will no longer be traveling to the alternate worlds to see if they are viable for colonization. They will be taking the people to the alternate world they want and after 36 hours Infinity and Desmond will be returned to earth to take another group to another alternate earth.
I really liked the audiobook. It brought the characters to life and I learned more about Infinity and Desmond through hearing them .

I enjoyed this book as much as the first one. I found this second book in the series as full of the intensity and excitement of the first book. Since Infinity and Desmond led another group to an alternate world, I appreciated the worldbuilding and enjoyed the descriptions of the different beings which populated this world. The almost non-stop action kept my attention. I was entertained by Victoria Lynn Arbor's narration as her performance was easy to follow and understand. I was given a copy of the audiobook. I volunteered, without financial gain, to post this review which reflected my honest opinions regarding this audiobook.
