After meeting at ten, a lonely genius and a kind-hearted girl promised to stay in touch. But Xander's letters never reached Emery, leaving them both feeling betrayed and heartbroken.

Seven years later, Xander returns to Castle Hill and crosses paths with the girl he never forgot. The academy's rowing team offers a diversion from caring for his ailing father—but can it distract him from her?

Emery Wallace is popular and wealthy, yet beneath her flawless exterior she is crumbling under her father's high expectations. He controls her life with an iron grip, while her mother disappears into alcohol, drowning in grief over losing her oldest son.

When their worlds collide again, neither can ignore the magnetic pull that ignited the moment they met. While Xander finds solace in logic and certainty, Emery reveals the humanity in our universe, showing him that, like light, we exist as both particles and waves—individual yet infinite, broken yet whole.

Xander and Emery must battle forces determined to keep them apart. As Xander's orderly life unravels and Emery's future slips away, can their light find each other and endure?

What a heart warming read…two amazing sensitive people living and surviving in the midst of so many day to day family problems.

Just two kids trying to work it all out and find themselves among all the chaos.
What a heart warmer read. Emma Scott creates the most amazing characters.

I'll start with the audio review. Amanda Troop and David Lee Huynh did a fantastic job bringing this story to life. Their voices were perfect for Emery and Xander. Xander is an actual genius, and I really thought David did a fantastic job portraying kind of the "nerdy" vibes with his voice. I didn't even know that was a thing until I heard it, ha!

I love everything I've read of Emma Scott's, and I'm working my way through ALL of her books. I know book 2 in this series is coming out soon so I needed to read this one, and I read it in two days. Once I started, I couldn't stop. I loved Emery and Xander. And their friends Harper, Orion and even Delilah. We start when they meet as children then pick back up when they're 17. Both have their own sets of struggles, but yet they're "entangled," and I loved how they come back together and overcome so many obstacles. I especially like how the two MCs balanced each other out. Xander is a genius. Emery is more of a creative genius. And they are both able to teach each other.

I don't want to give too much away, but if you like the stories where everything seems impossible - but you know we're going to get an Emma Scott HEA - you will LOVE this one!

The narrators brought this emotional story to life
