ok so yes the other reviews will mention how the female voice is a bit bland almost monotone I'd agree with that...but the over all story draws you in and keeps you there...think of it as almost like a play by play of a video game...throw in some cheesy jokes and *ahem* scenes with a dash of nearly cringe worthy flirting at times (although some of the lines may prove worthy of the ancient ones of romance) and you have a well put together series...the ending ties it all up well yet leaves things open for a sequel series maybe with a few of the same characters...there are a few who you get to love and cherish a villan or two you despise and romance that tickles all the right areas of a nerds heart...if you can stomach the awkward beginnings of our hero you will throughly enjoy this series

It started a little rough and took some time to get used to the narrator with made me cringe at times. Fortunately, the action kept me engage and the pace was fast enough. The story is your typical good vs evil and protecting people. I felt the ending was sorta lacking and left many things unanswered. Wished there was more meat and time invested into the lore and world. Lots of potential to really bring out true the essence of the martial system and character development. The MC just seems to be so overpowering throughout the entire series with little to no major struggles. Which made things fairly predictable. Also if your into lots of hardcore sex scenes fill with harem then you won’t be disappointed. Overall though the key things that kept me engage was the action and unrelenting drive of the MC, Worth a listen, but diff forgettable.

Great action with okay story

okay so I went into this book fairly optimistic. goes through his formation of fighting and all that good fun there are some massive cheesy female scenes and it's pretty much all just focusing on how the MC is the s*** etc. what really started annoying me was the girlfriend's constant oh you're so awesome, and went in a fight the idiot MC screams out his power moves like a s***** power ranger show or something. moving along further into the series The enemies are almost idiots, how the major enemies end up developing is kind of lame. mind you seeing the MC taken down like a b**** sometimes was rather satisfying but after he becomes so powerful and awesome even that kind of pisses you off cuz you're like what the hell man. and the final aspect of the entire series just seems like a rushed garble. goes through a short stint for some Tower climb BS kills the bad guy with ease tosses aside girlfriends like they're nothing, goes on about how he cares about his girlfriends but then towards the very end all of a sudden the books cut off like the author just got bored and toss some generic oh I'm going to be a good guy from now on with my power ending. literally the dude had like seven chests to choose rewards from got to like the fifth one where he became really powerful and then it just f****** cuts off after his little dialogue the end this was blah blah blah on audible. a real s*** ending. what happened to all the extra side characters that you decide to build up in the third book randomly. what other s*** did he get. BS

ok so much. an ok book but so many issues

The story was actually pretty interesting and even though I disliked the MC during the "second book" I really enjoyed the story overall. seemed to me the final few chapters were squeezed in instead of creating a 4th book it was tastefully wrapped up. Both narrators left something to be desired in delivery and emphasis of emotions but the female narrator was the weakest of the two. I really wish they would have made a fourth book instead of what was done but overall am not disappointed with the overall product.

actually decent story

The book contains everything I thought I wanted in a story, action, gore, sex. But overtime I realized the characters need a bit more work. The main characters ego just spikes out of nowhere and the story fails to address him as he become hypocritical of other's actions compared to his own. The character that kept him humble soon becomes useless and his ego becomes even bigger. The female performance did her best with the ladies but the writing for their dialogue is very unrealistic and somewhat soulless unless it comes to sexual conduct.

Hector is blamed for his actions and labeled evil yet from the beginning of the book he was on John's side until John decided to do his own thing. It seemed like he forgets, he wouldn't be this great if it wasn't for Hector requesting him as "The One." If the series continue, I will hope the females have a more realistic dialogue and John gets more humble instead of allowing him to win in every situation which compliments his growing ego and disrespect towards the person who got him there in the first place.

John Needs Humbling
