Terrel managed to survive the violence and craziness of the County Jail, but after blowing trial Terrel is headed Upstate. The County Jail was bad, but the penitentiary proves to be on a whole other level of bad. The plotting, scheming, and violence is multiplied by ten in the pen. Throw in the constant war between Philly and Pittsburgh inmates and you have a volatile environment that is ready to explode at any minute! As Terrel fights to survive on the inside, his support system on the outside seems to be crumbling. His best friend Gene is headed down a path that looks as if it will send him to the pen or the grave. Anissa, his son's mother is going deeper down the path of drug addiction with her boyfriend Debo. Anissa's drug addiction is leading her to make some bad decisions and she finds herself in danger of losing custody of both of her kids. Malik Abdur-Rahim, Terrel's lawyer seems to have forgot all about him even though he promised that he would appeal his sentence for him because he suspected some underhanded tactics by the police and prosecution that led to Terrel's conviction. Not only does Terrel need to stay alive, he also needs to get back to the outside world so he can be there for his family and his only son who desperately needs a positive male role model in his life right now. Terrel is truly alone in his fight this time, but it is a fight that he has vowed to fight to the very end!
