Winkler's research in "The Roman Salute" confirms Professor Dr. Rex Curry's discoveries, including how the "Roman Salute" phrase was inspired by Rome, New York (the hometown of Francis Bellamy, author of the USA's Pledge of Allegiance and a Roman from New York) and how Bellamy’s pledge ritual was the origin of the salute used later by the socialist Adolf Hitler, and by the long-time socialist leader Benito Mussolini (which Mussolini learned when he was a socialist too).
