Never going cave diving

For 2 people who checked and double checked everything the one thing I realized they didn’t have was a guide string… I think it was mentioned but was it used? NOPE! I would never go into an unexplored cave without a string to lead me back where I came. Otherwise good story.

Story is inspiring.

I listen this at normal speed. Good story. Well worth the listen while I waited at the airport. I didn’t care for the narrator. I am picky but I thought it did a bad job of portraying the female voice. But I will for sure listen again and again to see where they could have prepared for the challenge. I will follow the author for sure.

Ready to become a movie!

The Dark Descent by Adam McKim and narrated by Daniel Hord is a short story. With just 10 short chapters and an hour or so to read you can finish this in a single sitting.
This short story exposes themes of trust, resilience, desire to live, bond between a couple and a zest for life among others.
David and Rachel are cave divers that want to explore one where not everyone comes back. They have to trust each other and stick with the plan.
Released in 2025, this short story is full of suspense and will keep you on the edge if your seat. A little bit more and I can totally see it as a Netflix movie! Thank you for the ARC!

Cave diving, anyone?

Rachel and David are avid divers, so when a previously unknown underwater cave is found, they have to go exploring! After all what could go wrong?

This short story is full of suspense as the pair find themselves lost and unable to find their way out of this unmapped cave system. (Like the reader couldn't see that coming!!).

The narrator does a good job and builds the tension perfectly. A great listen for when you just want a short,, entertaining read.

Gripping

This short story is absolutely gripping! I was hooked from the very beginning. Even for a short story, it had a lot of twists and turns I was not expecting. I would totally read it if it were expanded into a full length novel
