When Jesse snuck out of the trailer in the dead of night, he didn't have a plan. He just needed to get away. And after an hour of walking, he realizes how stupid he was to leave on foot. Just because he wasn't going to die at the hands of his ex tonight doesn't mean he won't freeze to death on his way out. Curled up in the corner of a bus stop, he closes his eyes and waits for peace to finally find him.

But when a strong man picks him up and puts him inside a warm pickup truck, he has to wonder if maybe an angel found him after all. And good ol' vigilante justice is the only thing that makes Jesse feel safe. Well, that and the man he aches to call Daddy.

This Daddy/boy romance is sweet and sexy with some dark moments and a happy ever after.

Great short story

I enjoyed this and listened to it all in one listen. Both characters were loveable and made a great couple. Due to it's shortness I did feel like the ending was a bit OTT even though it said it was flash forwarding 6 months. It still felt a bit unrealistic. As well as their first I love you felt a bit instalove but I still give the story 5 stars overall. It was a sweet read/listen. Looking forward to the next book.

The narrators voice and reading pace/flow was pleasant to listen to. He did a really good job at expressing all of the emotions and brought the story to life. He gave each of the characters their own distinct voice, including the side characters, that suited them all well and made it easy to follow the story. I would listen to him again.

I love this book. It's a good story and the narration is well done, though I would have liked a more pronounced difference in the voices.

MC showed no hesitation in ending that guy, im not complaining! but wow. That was the last thing I expected when I started this one lol.
