Tallulah Hayes has a bad temper but a good work ethic.

Ronan Hawthorne has a world-class pedigree but wants a different life.

They hate each other. They have since high school, when Ronan ghosted Tallulah on prom night. They’re not going to be friends. Unfortunately, they are going to be co-workers.

Ronan has been working under the radar at his family’s rival casino for a year. He doesn’t want to run anything. He just wants to save up enough money to open his own art gallery…one day.

Tallulah has no choice but to take a position in the high rollers’ pit at Stone Casino after losing her most recent job. Her friend Olivia procures the placement thanks to her new husband, and Tallulah is grateful…if a little worried. She doesn’t do well under pressure.

When Ronan and Tallulah come face to face after years apart, sparks fly. Not necessarily good ones, however. They instantly start fighting, both of them happy to remain enemies, until they stumble upon something to worry about together.

Stone Casino is under siege from a secret enemy. Ronan and Tallulah are going to have to join together to keep the people they care for safe…whether they like it or not. Along the way, they just might find out they have more in common than they ever realized.

Female narrator

The female narrator was terrible. She made all of the characters sound whiney and irritable. Her inflection and emphases on different words was all off. Other than that, the book was great, along with the male narrator.

Love the Vagas theme however...

This was almost a DNF for me simply because the female narrator (0-*) drove me insane with her whinnie voice. If my therapist sounded like that when she talked to me, I would need a therapist because of my therapist.
The story line was good and the male narrator (*****) kept me listening to find out what happened.

Ronan's paranoid made this book unenjoyable

The character of Ronan, who is ending up as the romance interest is so unlikeable that there's no way I can see anyone liking him much less be interested in him.
Ronan is always thinking about who is out to get him, who is playing with him and trying to undermine him!
He's so bland that he isn't even funny just obnoxious and a colorful person like Tallulah would never be drawn to him.
Avery Kane(Amanda M Lee) is normally a great writer, shocked about this annoying book.
Meghan Kelly is spot on as always!

Deeper Than Most Rom Coms

The emotions this story elicits are many: sympathy, anger, sadness, pleasure, humor. I enjoyed it and the narrators do a good job.

Mediocre

The narration was not good. The whining voice used for the therapist was the most annoying but none of the voices were enjoyable. I am sorry to give such a bad review.
