Am I afraid of gnomes? Maaaaaaaybe.

Did I take on a huge gnome job anyway? I sure did.

Am I about to ask my crush for help? Well, I have to ask someone, right?

I get called out to a huge mansion with the biggest number of invading gnomes I’ve ever seen, and I’m not sure who to call to help. And I definitely need some help.

So when Winter Montgomery just so happens to stop by, I know I have to ask him. I’ve been crushing on the handsome guy from afar for years, so now’s my chance to get close—and get some much needed support.

As long as I don’t let him see just how much I hate gnomes—okay, I’m actually terrified of them, but he doesn’t need to know that… right?

Did It Really Have to Be Gnomes?! (Carry a Faerie, Book 1) is a MM urban fantasy and the first book in Miles and Winter’s love story. Each book will have its own supernatural problem with a HFN ending for the couple, but there will be overarching plot themes throughout the series.

Miles, who owns a magical pest company, and is known for his humane catch and release policy, gets called into remove a gnome infestation at a ginormous mansion. The kicker? Miles is terrified of gnomes!

With the aid of his former high school crush turned neighbor, Winter, who just so happens to work for a rival pest control company, the two uncover a curse on the house that has turned the normally docile gnomes into angry little psychos.

Honestly, this was seriously so cute and fun! Miles and Winter were precious, and I loved that their story was a blend of sweet romance and magical mystery.

Cannot wait for more of this series!

Did It Have To Be Gnomes?! is the first book in the Carry A Faerie series. This is the story of Miles and Winter. I loved this book so much because the characters are so real. I loved the unique idea of fairy type creatures being pests and Miles running a humane exterminator service. This was just a fun book overall. I loved the world building and characters. I can't wait for the next book in the series so I can learn more about Miles and River. Michele Notaro is an amazing author and I look forward to the next book in the series. If you get the audio narration, Zachary Zaba does a wonderful job of narrating this book. He makes the change in characters seamlessly. I would definitely recommend this book.

The narration was well done. There were distinguishable voices and every voice was pleasant. I was actually really surprised by Winters voice when I first heard it, I'm not familiar with the author so I wasn't expecting anything quite so deep.

The story itself was well paced and well thought out. I liked meeting all the characters and look forward to the next book. I'm sure the loose ends we currently have will be addressed so I'm not worried about anything just yet. The romance is a bit cheesy at times but it's not exasperating. I'm actually a fan of both Miles and Winter so I'm glad to see them together.

Good Plot
