I am in LOVE

Ok so the trigger warnings started off this listening and I was like "Damn!" I never thought listening to trigger warnings could be so enjoyable. Both actors did an amazing job reading this story. Ryan has an sexy deep voice. I know the parts were probably recorded separately, but I swear I can feel the chemistry as I listed to this audiobook.
As for the story. Slightly stalkerish sexy man (maybe more than slightly) who will protect the woman he loves with his life (maybe at the expense of others, but they deserve it). The name of the book is what it is for a reason, you country music lovers already know where this is heading.
Yes there are some triggers, please know your limits. But this is an AMAZING book because it is the joint passion (see what I did there) project of two amazing authors. I mean since they are awesome on their own, is anyone out there really surprised that this book is as great as it is?

What in the Truck

The narrators for this book were so perfect. They bring so much life into an already five star book. If you have not read this book, do yourself a favor and listen to the audio you will not be disappointed.

Dark, disgusting, HEA

This is the first book I've read/listened to by this author. I must admit that the trigger warnings had my head going all over the place so it wasn't quite what I was expecting. It was dark, and disgusting at times. But I was invested in how it would all work out in the end. Great HEA.

The narrators did a great job. They had the audiobook rolling like a movie in my head.

Dark, Twisted & Awesome Story & Narration🎧

A dark and twisted cowboy romance like no other, one that will grab your attention and hold it hostage the entire time. This is my first experience, I mean book, written by Leila James and Shauna Mairéad, and consider me intrigued, so it definitely won’t be my last. I enjoyed their writing style, and their character development and world-building were fantastic. Sage Everett has a lot on her plate, and the men in her life were complete losers, a father who was never the same after the passing of her brother and then the leaving of her mother, a perverse ranch hand and a jerk of a boyfriend who would give her a hard time for working at a bar and wearing a certain attire. She did not know it yet, but there was someone who watched her from afar, and always looked out for her, Kade, a fallen angel, a dark angel and her savior, who would do what it took to keep her safe and happy. Kade grew up on the neighboring ranch, but their families had a falling out after her brother passed away, along with his sister. That did not stop his obsession with her or doing what he had to do to rid the vermin out of her life. Kade had a unique outlook on life and death, and his wit and way with words, all darkly humorous, added a lot to his character, but there was more to him, fiercely protective and he knew what he wanted. Sage, despite the crap she had to deal with, rolled with it, but it was worsening, especially after stumbling on something she should never have seen and could not unsee. I thought Kade and Sage were great together and for each other and loved watching their relationship morph into something so much more. There is never a dull moment in this book, a morally gray and killer of a story that has the perfect balance of drama, angst, twists and turns, thrilling horror or maybe justice served, heartfelt emotions and a meant-to-be romance like no other. Shout out to Grandma Jo, her wisdom, experience and know-how, and we need to know how she knows. Leila James and Shauna Mairéad, thank you for this terrific story and wild ride.

🎧📚🎧  Ryan Lee Dunlap and Harlow Wilde were the perfect cast to bring these characters to life, understanding who they were portraying, giving each a voice that was fitting and believable. Dunlap killed it as Kade, grasping every aspect of his personality, from his possessive and protective side to cool, calm and ruthless side. Wilde was just as amazing with showcasing Sage’s personality, from her vulnerabilities to her strength and determination. Both were fantastic at performing the roles of the side/secondary characters too. Dunlap and Wilde were a fantastic pairing, with voices and talent that complemented each other and an entertaining performance that took the story to another level, and kept you hooked the entire time.

Swooning! (Stroy/Narrator 50/50 maybe!)

First and foremost, check your trigger warnings. They are clearly stated the beginning of the audiobook. Ryan Lee Dunlap and Harlow Wilde were perfection on audio! I know I probably shouldn't have loved this book this much, but I couldn't help myself I need more dark cowboy romance in my life! I laughed, I cried and I swooned! I have read/listened to some good books this year but this one just kind of blew me away. I need more suggestions like this; I need to find books by these authors and narrators! Don't hesitate to get this audiobook...as long as the triggers are going to affect your mental health then take a gamble! So glad I got this one for so many reasons.
