THE ROAD TO STANLEY was originally published as the second half of CASSANDRA’S SONG and appears in its separate form in the interests of making a very long book more palatable, and hopefully digestible to readers!
The Royal Navy has finally established, bloodily, command of the sea and the air; ashore ground forces are braced to break out of the San Carlos bridgehead. To all intents, the Argentine defenders are besieged, waiting for the final onslaught while in Buenos Aires the Army, Navy and Air Force factions in the Junta are fighting their own, brutal internecine blame game as the nation, so united in the early days of the war is fracturing as old divisions, papered over by patriotic fervour, tear apart.

Author’s note to readers: since the publication of OPERATION ANADYR in October 2014, the Timeline 10/27/62 series has branched into and explored a number of additional narrative arcs and themes, and in several standalone stories.
For my readers who prefer to read the Timeline 10/27/62 books in the chronological order of the overall narrative arc THE ROAD TO STANLEY = 48.
