After the events at Easter, Sam Vives is in a very dark place. He pushes away his friends and family in an attempt to protect them and sets out to take his revenge on the Illuminati. He disrupts their "Leaps", filling their operatives with terror and making them return home, trying to force Quentin and The Master out into the open so that he can destroy them once and for all.
The Illuminati aren't going to give up without a fight, though, and while he is only able to attack them in the past they have no such limitation.
