Carl Parker, a retired widower. is tired of the loss and emptiness he feels. He sets out on Christmas Eve to an old country bridge to end it all.
But a series of the most unusual and unexpected interruptions keeps messing up his plans. As Carl strives to push forward with his own plan to ease the pain of his broken heart he can’t help but wonder if God has something else for him.
Carl starts to realize that God’s hope is present in even the darkest of life’s moments, however will Carl accept this hope before it’s too late?
The Bridge is the second novella in Joshua Powell’s Stories of Hope series, a group of connected standalone stories of God’s hope in dark moments. It’s perfect for fans of Charles Martin and Mitch Albom, this emotionally rich story reminds us that even in our darkest moments, light still finds a way through.
