This fun look at what being a tour guide is and how to do it well will encourage you to learn more about the job you are undertaking and give you valuable insights into the psychology of guests(their reactions, their perspective, etc.). I have been a docent at a museum for 6 years, all in which I have entertained and educated tens of thousands of guests from all around the world. My objective is to make the new tour guide more understanding of his/her purpose and ultimately better at their job, so that guests may be better serviced and will be enticed to return with their friends and family. Think of this as an employee training manual, but without the pressure or intimidation of management. It is short sweet and to the point with some helpful ideas on how to find jobs too.
