Here be pirates! … Oh, and here be Dragons!
GNARRR!!!
And then there were less pirates.

When a young soldier comes to beg help from Thundersong and Queen Azania to rescue his sister, snatched by pirates, the scent of adventure proves irresistible. Hoicking the lad up by his bootlaces, they promptly set off in pursuit of ye foul brigands.

Never mind that the King will have a Dragon’s guts for whisking his very pregnant wife off across the Lumis Ocean. Minor detail.

A rollicking adventure unfolds as the young lady in question proves unexpectedly elusive. Many dangers threaten out in the open ocean, from a hypnotic foe to a volcanic eruption, never mind the actual pirates.

Negotiating these perils with their usual zany brand of creativity and humour is one challenge. Coming back alive, quite another.

I have been reading this series by this author over a long time and I absolutely loved the first three books and I loved that he used a real Narrator for it and it really brought the characters life and that is missing in this book. I was in the middle of getting Thanksgiving preparations done and I like to listen to books while I do so. To help make it easier for me to read this series because I wanted to continue reading it. I saw that there were audiobooks and I didn’t question the fact that they were only two bucks. I thought they were just on sale and I also missed the part where it said it was narrated by an AI voice and I didn’t realize it was narrated by an AI voice until I started listening to the book and it states at the beginning that it is narrated with an AI voice. I can tell you after hearing the first three books in this series with a real Narrator, it makes this book and the next two after it very very disappointing. The story is written well I like the characters and I like how things progress, but this AI narration made me not want to listen to this. I could hear the actual voices and sound effects that the live actor has done from the previous books inu head as I was listening to the AI and I wanted to cry. I don’t know why the Author chose to do AI narration for books 4, 5, and 6, but I am very very sad that he did.

Disappointing
