For years, Stanley harbored a chilling belief—a war was coming. A war not between nations or ideologies, but between man and monster. The whispers in the dark, the lurking shadows that danced at the edge of human knowledge—creatures of the night—were real. And their existence was no longer just the subject of superstition or horror tales. It was fact. Dangerous, uncontrollable fact.

At the center of this unraveling nightmare lies a journal. Not just any journal—but a meticulously detailed, damning account of vampires and werewolves, written by a relentless journalist named Kain—a man presumed dead after a brutal attack. But Kain had survived. And his secrets, bleeding through every ink-stained page, are on their way to the most powerful man in the world: The President of the United States.

The moment the journal reaches the Oval Office, the world is set on a terrifying new course. Governments rise in fear. Action replaces diplomacy. Containment facilities are erected overnight. Collars, engineered to suppress and control supernatural powers, are distributed. The message is clear: vampires and werewolves will no longer be free. Not all monsters will kneel.

From the bloodied alleyways of forgotten cities to the moonlit forests where werewolves howl their fury, the supernatural world fights back. Retaliation erupts in an explosion of chaos and carnage. Cities burn. Civilizations fracture. Humanity is thrown into a war unlike any it has ever known. And in the midst of this devastation, old loyalties are shattered.

Stanley learns the unthinkable: Kain is alive. His former friend. His confidant. The very man he once trusted with the sacred secrets of two ancient species. A man who now holds the power to bring them all to extinction.

To save what’s left of a crumbling world and to atone for the trust he misplaced—Stanley must hunt the one person who knows everything. He must find Kain. He must stop him. He must kill him. Before the journal falls into the wrong hands.

Swanson: The Uprising by S. K. Ballinger is a great horror thriller. Edgar A. Hernandez did a great job with the narration. The story is thrilling, exciting, suspenseful, scary, horrifying in a way, entertaining, interesting and more. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

The story is about vampire and werewolves living anonymously among us. When this becomes known, prejudices and fears abound. The POTUS takes the lead in the world in dealing with this new knowledge. Do you embrace these new creatures as you embraced them when you didn't know who they were, or do you give in to the fear of the unknown?

I didn't realize this was part of a series. Although it can and does stand alone, I think reading the previous three books in the series would have been beneficial to understanding who all the characters were.

Edgar A. Hernandez did an admirable job in the narration.
