When it comes to dragons, there's no such thing as safe.

I learned that the hard way when my kith and kindred were slaughtered right before my eyes.

Everyone thinks the wyverns and the sorcai did it, but I know the truth.

I've been hiding from The Horde ever since, existing under their radar, surviving.

And then one day, they find me… he finds me. Aeson Noctis, the king's second son and my new captor.

Aeson thinks he can force me back to Paragon City. He thinks he can use me and claim my power for his own.

But the dragons should've been more careful about who they let inside their city. I'm not some weak little pawn. I'm here looking for answers.

I'm here looking for revenge.

When it comes to dragons, there's no such thing as safe. I know because I am one, and now I'm going to make The Horde pay for what they've done.

They thought they killed all the Syphons.

They thought they'd hunted down everyone.

They thought wrong.

Narrated in duet style.

very intriguing duet narration. fmc was a bit childish at times but all together loved the whit and humor narrator did a great job. MMC voice kept differing but he did a good job. The overall story was great. im eager for the next book. I wish the world building was more detailed.

dramatic yearning with blades and dragons 🌶

The world building is a slight deviation from common dragon romance stories. However, the FMC carries the typical ‘stubborn for the story’s sake’ approach which is far less believable and endearing. The female narrator did an excellent job.
That said, any fantasy romance read in duet narration is a must-listen in my book. I’ll continue with the series once book two is released.

Novel magic world. Typical FMC

This was recommended on a Facebook reel, and the story was absolutely amazing! Took a little bit to understand what was going on, but by 1/3 in, the plot was rolling and didn't stop! I really enjoyed the ride - can't wait for the next one!

Enjoyed this immensely!

I enjoyed the storyline, it was well paced and integrated world building and background well into the main characters reality. I appreciated the the main character(s) disposition and the banter was fun. I am curious to witness the others become more fleshed out in further books. The ending definitely hits and I'm glad I don't have too long to wait before the second book is out in July!!! Recommend!

Top three books I've read so far this year!
