My Missing Boy

My son Cam is going to be a baseball star. He’s only thirteen but this trip is a huge opportunity for him. There are scouts from all the major baseball teams at this tournament. He is the one to watch.

The night before the tournament starts, Cam’s bed is found empty.

People are always jealous of him — other kids, other parents. Even his own father.

Anyone could have taken him.

The police start digging into every corner of our lives. They want to know everything about us. Everything about our relationship. Every secret we’ve kept from each other.

They’re going to find out what I did.

Narrators were almost comically bad. Story was predictable. I figured it out from almost the beginning.

Impossible to get through.

The narrators are insufferable. The female one in particular. I don’t understand how so many words could butchered and not corrected. The characters are cringeworthy. The main character in particular, for me, was just obnoxious. Thankfully it was a free listen.

Narration was distracting

The story had some good twists and turns, but the narration really distracted me. I can often visualize the characters based on their voices, but not in this case. I almost stopped listening to. You need to listen ALL the way through the epilogue.

Awful Narration

I had to stop listening. The female narrator is one of the worst I’ve heard. Overacting, child-like.

Decent story-cringe performance

Absolutely the worst narrating I have experienced through audible. Felt like a high school drama class performing improvisation. The story was entertaining, but sheesh…. Maybe try again with a new cast.
