Little do the outlaws know that their quest to save a life might end with a battle for their own, as two breeds of evil collide, the hunters become the hunted, and desolate mountains ring with the screams of men and savages fighting to survive.

great intro into western horror!

This was a fun, violent western/horror. The writing, particularly for the second half of the story, made me think of Richard Laymon, who I was obsessed with back in high school. I felt like this book took a minute to get to the main events, but once it did shit really hits the fan and it was a wild ride.

It did bother me a bit that the FMC was only 16, while the main male love interest was...a little older...and while common during that time period, it was still a little uncomfortable. Other than that, I thought this was a crazy romp through the west with some crazy hillbilly-esque villains.

If you enjoy westerns and tons of gore, and you're a fan of Richard Laymon's horror books, check this one out!

Gross

Don’t listen to this if you don’t want to listen to drawn out scenes involving the sexual assault of children. The author also spends a lot of time dwelling on the bodies of teenage girls. I was just looking for some good western horror, I realize it was THAT kind of book.
