Mildly amusing... at the way beginning

To me, this is one of those comedy light novels that has a gimmick that's funny—like maybe once or twice. In this case, Maple somehow maxing her defense enough to get a lot of overpowered abilities was funny for like a chapter or two.

Once she starts constantly winning fights in a "funny way" just because it's "cute," I slowly started getting bored.

I was hoping when her friend Sally started playing with her, things would be more interesting since she seems to be a more down-to-earth, actual nerd who knows how to play games.

But if anything, it just made things more boring because it had to split time between two characters who don't really have that much personality.

It'd be one thing if they made the world interesting, but at least based on volume 1, I don't think they really did a good job with that.

I like the idea of two girls just hanging out and playing video games with each other, but at least based on volume 1, it doesn't really do the cute girls doing cute things or the MMO abilities thing particularly well compared to other series.

At least the voice actress, Megan Shipman—who voices Maple in the anime—did a good job voicing all the characters.
