I love Nelly

I adore Nelly. She's so strong and just awesome. I hate how difficult it can be for trans people to navigate dating safely. I like that there was the representation of that in this story as well. It made her finding David that much sweeter. They are so cute and I love that he checked on her when she was a crying stranger. So sweet. The narration is so perfect too!!

Quick story

I enjoyed Nellie's story. While she goes through some tough times, she remains upbeat and determined to find her happiness. I didn't like the description of one character as "a pansexual" (as opposed to just 'pansexual') but I'm sensitive to those things - no deduction taken.

The narration unfortunately was not for me, 2.5/5. Almost every word was breathy and almost moaned, and the end of most of the sentences was drawn out vocally. It was just too much, and the register it hit affected my sensory issues. Others have quite enjoyed the narration, so this might be a 'me' thing.

Sweet

Loved the narrators that read this book. Made the story beautifully and sweetly lovely. I enjoyed this audio book and how it flows through the story.

I absolutely loved this book. Super sweet and just so adorable. Poor Nelly had definitely been through it. I loved how David accepted her for her being a trans when guys acted like they were and wanted her to change who she was.

David and Nelly were super cute together. I loved how he called her baby girl. He was everything she needed and so much more.

Their first date was so cute and so perfect and when David asked a very special question and the fact that her parents were there made it even more special.

I also loved August & Levi. I just loved how they always fought over the phone anytime she called. Also, the surprise visit Nelly was super cute in how she got to meet Levi. I really wanted more of this book but it was super perfect.

Also, Stephanie did such an amazing job narrating Nelly. The emotion and just everything in between was what I needed.
