She is Queen of the Wicked, and she belongs to me.

In the wake of Adelasia's resurrection, a sickness begins to consume her mind, body, and soul. With the Coven after the magic she's stolen from the Well, and old flames returning to the Obsidian Palace, Kaius must accept that he cannot save his mate on his own. With the help of a mysterious incubus named Rowan, and while meeting some old friends along the way, the trio travels through the dangerous Blackwood to face Yekaterina and the Priestesses one final time.

Will they reach the Well before Eternity's Rot devours Adelasia whole, or will she embrace her dark, wicked destiny instead?

In the second and final installment of the Echoes of Eternity Duet, Adelasia, Kaius, and Rowan find out once and for all if love really can conquer all.

🎧⭐️ALC Review⭐️🎧 I really wish authors would put a ‘previously on…” like they do for TV shows, reminding you of the most important information from the previous one, I could have used that with this second book. So, I recommend you go back and get some type of refresher. It was my mistake to think I could remember everything with so much time in between. Once I remembered everything, I couldn’t be torn away from this book. The complexity of this world, and the twists are surprising in the best way. June was fantastic as Adelasia. Sean was fabulous as Kaius, and Joe gave a performance the melded seamlessly with the others. Willa gave a beautiful performance.

Narration: Duet multi-cast narration, first-person present tense, multiple-POV some flashbacks

Tropes: Dark, vampire/human relationship, magic, a comrade snake, witches, dancer, curse, feisty FMC, he falls first, secrets, bl00dy, vi0lent, scars, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, OTTP, why choose, MMF

Adelasia has been resurrected, but as with all magic, there is a cost, and a sickness is taking over her body. In the midst of dealing with everything a mysterious being, named Rowan from Kaius’ past appears in her life.

Rowan wants to be accepted back into Kaius’ life, and heart. He’s also inexplicably drawn to his mate. He doesn’t know if he’ll be able to regain Kaius’ trust or not, but he’ll do anything to get it back.

Kaius is at a loss for how to save his mate, and when Rowan re-enters his life, he is torn between the two and doesn’t know what will happen other than there is no life for him, if she isn’t alive.

Let me just start off by saying the performance for this is extremely amazing. I knew the narration was gonna be good, but it took me by surprise with certain chapters where I had to go back and re-listen because it’s that good!

So with that being said, it’s a phenomenal story. You must read the first book in the series to read this one.

This gave me all of the feels I wanted for a fantasy/dark romance.

The FMC is going through a certain amount of things that are challenging, which comes with the journey of everything from her POV & the MMCs. It picks up right after the first book, which is great since you feel like you never left the world.

Kaius and Rowan are both strong MMCs. In my head, they bounce off of each other—such as one brings to the table what the other one doesn’t in certain moments.

What to expect with this story: character growth, story development, lots of chaos, emotional impact, and small details connecting perfectly like a puzzle.

The story is told beautifully. The author has done an amazing job of creating this world and putting it together in a sense of, “Oh, that’s why this happens!?”

From start to end, I was intrigued with each chapter and each moment. I truly enjoyed every moment of this.

Narration-wise, it’s phenomenal. Everyone did a great job. The creative energy definitely shows with this narration—everyone delivered with the roles they had.

this author is capable of a very well flushed out story with a lot of detail, backstreet and emotion. this story came across as very amateur. there were points where I thought I had zoned out and had missed something, so I would rewind but would realize, I hadn't missed anything. she had just skipped over what felt like a lot of detail and possibly important information that you just had to guess at. sometimes you would be proven right or wrong. sometimes, things that should have been explained just never were. it just felt very incomplete and also way to fast paced, not in a good way. because you're spending so much time trying to figure out what you missed, even though you didn't actually miss anything, it takes you out of the story. this author is capable of so much. if you have read under your scars (it will destroy you, and not in a good way) you know this author has a lot of talent and can tell a good story. this felt very much like she just threw something together to keep her name out there. at least these two books end in a HEA.

the narration was great. not sure though why Kiaus has an accent but Rowan doesn't even though they grew up together. that was confusing. I love Sean Masters. he was the best part of this whole series. came for the premise, stayed for Sean Masters.

over all, probably skip this one.

I was so excited when I saw this because I wanted the conclusion to this series. King of the Damned ended in a cliff hanger and I immediately wanted to know what was going to happen next.

Ariel’s writing is spectacular and turning her words into an audio elevate her story and for me it made it even better. Although this is not my favorite book by her, the performances from all the voice actors added to what was already a good story. I do with the story would have been flushed out a bit more, but other than that, I am satisfied with the conclusion to this duet. Sean, June, Willa and Joe gave phenomenal performances as I have already come to expect. Their acting in this audio made it a fun listening experience and their emotions helped with me connecting more to these characters.
