A small town, slow-burn romance for fans of Elsie Silver and Laura Pavlov.

Bailey
Three years ago I moved to Amity. This was the place I was going to set my roots and live my life without the constant reminders of the pains of my past. That first night I fell into bed with a sexy stranger, only to find out he’s none other than my neighbor. And he didn’t even remember me or the night we spent together. Or so I thought. Years have past and it seems that may not be the case after all. Even though we don’t get along, our chemistry is impossible to ignore. Turns out the fire between us may not be based on hatred at all. But rather something much more explosive.

Wes
Ten years. Ten years since the entire course of my life was reshaped, and the trauma of it still plagues me nightly. The only time I’m not affected is when I’m driving to nowhere or verbally sparring with my neighbor. The same woman I slept with years ago. I’m drawn to her like a moth to a flame, unable to deny the pull she has on me. The feelings I’ve bottled up for years, growing more and more potent. When she finally gives me the control I crave, we both benefit from it. What starts out as something casual quickly becomes something grounding for us both. But then life throws another curveball at us, and I’m left wondering if the scars of our past will be the thing to truly break us.

Madi has never disappointed me, and this story took my love for her & her writing to an entirely different level! It was angsty, funny, heart-wrenching, heartbreaking, spicy, healing, & just overall SO GOOD! Emotional rollercoaster? Absolutely! Worth it? ABSO-F*CKIN*LUTELY!

This audio? DELISH! Sean Masters and Helena Walters did an incredible job as Wes & Bailey! The way they brought these characters to life was so good! Their voices fit how I imagined the characters perfectly, & made the reading experience even better! They brought their complicated emotions to life in a beautiful way! 100% recommend this audio!

Story wise? I have been WAITING for Bailley's story since she has been mentioned throughout Madi's previous books (Brent & Brynn's sister), & even though her trauma was foreshadowed, we really get that insight in this one. She takes so much onto her shoulders, & it has weighed her down for years, isolating her from loved ones, & making her a very closed off & guarded person.

Wes? This beautiful, broody, traumatized, & also closed off as hell man will have you panting one minute and frustrated with him the next lol! He may be one of my favorite of Madi's men though, as he was written so well & it's well known I love me a broody man lol. He is a tad bit damaged, with some not so great coping skills, but he is a work in progress (aren't we all?!).

The dynamic that these two have is done so well, I love how much they "loathe" one another, but also want each other. Their banter is top tier, and when they finally do break, HOLD ON Y'ALL! Hot hott, hotttttt! I mean the car scene? LAWD! While the chemistry is always great to read, I also loved how these two were there for one another, & helped the other to face their demons & work on healing. I say "work on" because they are both in need of some help/therapy of some sorts, but they are dedicated to each other's healing as well as their own as the book goes on.

TLDR: AUDIO FANTASTIC, BOOK FANTASTIC, DO IT! lol!

Beautiful & Emotional!

✨ ARC Review ✨
If there was ever a blueprint for an MMC I’d immediately fall for, it would look exactly as Wes does in Scars of You by Madi Danielle. It was as if she wrote him exactly for me personally because he had me jaw on the floor, scrambling to pull myself together while reading about him. Wes is an Army Apache Pilot Veteran, whose best friend is a rescue dog named Bruno and whose wartime experiences leave him hurting and battling inner demons. Like so many veterans, Wes’ need for control is a way to cope and process what he has endured and the aftermath of surviving the casualties of war. It is something that I completely empathize with and think Madi Danielle did a phenomenal job at portraying in this story.
Bailey, is such an amazing FMC because she too has her own inner demons she is battling from childhood abuse and trauma but she takes every day in stride and pushes forward even when it seems like she can’t push anymore. She is silently fierce and unwilling to let her childhood trauma keep her from moving forward.
Together, this couple is so perfect! I LOVE their relationship, their physical chemistry, the way they support one another unconditionally and are willing to work on themselves-together.

The banter and the spice in Scars of You is so freaking hotttt! Holy smokes! Wes has got a mouth on him and it had me clutching my pearls anytime that man spoke 🥵 And Bailey, that girl can hold her own. Let me tell you, she is no pushover and is capable of going toe to toe with Wes if that’s what it takes… but my favorite part about her character is that she is wiling to submit to Wes intimately because she recognizes that that is what they both need in order to feel safe and loved.

I am beyond grateful to have been given the opportunity to read Scars of You as an ARC because the entire Amity cast has been 🤌🏼 *chefs kiss* thus far.

I can’t wait to see where Lily & Parker’s story takes us, that’s one that bound to be highly entertaining…

Perfect for you, if you enjoy:
* enemies to lovers
* Army Veteran
* healing / trauma
* found family
* praise / degradation
* man’s best friend
