A glimpse into a phenomenal fantasy series

This one definitely made me need to check out the rest of the series. With excellent narration and fast paced storytelling, I fell in love with the feisty main character right away and felt for her every step of her agonizing journey. Looking forward to the next one!

Interesting fantasy world

Jacqui Winsor does a fine job of narrating this book and I enjoyed listening to her.

I haven't read any of the others books in this series, so it would have had a bigger impact if I was already familiar with the world and the characters. Certain parts of the story would have been devastating if I were already invested in these people.

The world is fascinating. I loved the idea of valor, wisdom, and fear as deities. The magic is interesting. I liked the main character's scythe and crystal shields.
