I enjoyed the audio recordings of Eddie’s conversations with Steve Rosen.

Steve’s voice is excruciatingly monotone. Was difficult to get through 31 hours.

I just can say they aren't much worth mentioning that I didnt like.I think this 1 of the best Audibles I've heard.Up and close to Eddie!! Everyone that liked Van Halen needs to get this, just fanrastic.

Ed's and Steve's relationship, to me I was surprised,Eddie was really a nice guy.

Fair Warning: This is not a 31 hour book about Edward Van Halen… this is a 31 hour book about Steve. Slowly induced boredom each time I listened to

The title is deceiving. I was expecting to read of Ed's quest for guitar tone and how he achieved his "brown" sound. Instead, the book is a diary of the author's gradual and obsessive "schoolgirl crush" feelings for Edward Van Halen.

Rosen speaks more about his feelings for Ed and his pursaunce of doing things to please the king of guitar. Its disturbing that the author could not see "the forrest through the trees." He doesn't even recognize the most likely reason why Edward AND Valerie distanced themselves from Rosen to the point of cutting off all ties. It was shocking to read that Valerie was actually running with Wolfie down the street to get away from Rosen.

As the book progresses, Rosen talks more and more about himself and his emotions than about Edward Van Halen.

Not to completely bash Rosen, he is a respected and recognized writer for various guitar magazines. He just took the book down a dark-road that lead to complete disappointment for this reader.
