​Leaving her home to escape a reputation that follows her everywhere, Kara finds herself exactly where she was meant to be. I loved the "second chance" theme here—it’s a powerful reminder that we aren't defined by our worst mistakes. When she meets Brice, Ronan, and Nyle—three wolves living in isolation—the chemistry is immediate. Ronan’s backstory, in particular, is absolutely soul-crushing, making their eventual HEA feel even more earned.

​The Redemption Arc: Seeing a former villain risk everything to stand up to new threats is incredibly satisfying.
​Faith & Trust: These themes are the cornerstone of the series, and they shine as Kara learns to trust her men and herself.
​The Romance: In addition to a fast-paced plot, there is plenty of steam and heart to wrap it all up.
​Standalone or Series: You can enjoy this fully without prior context, though seeing Talia and her guys is a wonderful bonus for long-time fans.
​This was a really enjoyable listen that left me wanting to dive back into the rest of the series. If you aren't ready to leave the Mists, this is the perfect way to return to that world. Just be prepared—once you get a taste of these characters, you’ll want to binge the whole series!

Wonderful Return to the Mists

Having absolutely devoured all the previous books in this series when I saw Eva had gifted us with a new addition after such a long break, I couldn’t wait to return to the Mists

This book introduces us to 3 new characters, wolves without a pack and brings back one character we previously met when she attempted to aid an attack on the life of Lady Talia in one of the earlier books.

I’m not going to give any spoilers. I will just say this story had me gripped from beginning to end. The characters are sympathetically and well-drawn. The story takes place 10 years after the hard-won peace was established between all the inhabitants of the Mists

It’s a story of discovery, betrayal, forgiveness, and love. If you enjoyed any of the earlier books, you are sure to enjoy this.

The narration is excellent by Allison River, Joseph Discher, Michael Joss, and Alexander Neal. The story is exciting and gripping, and for once is a complete story, not the beginning of a new series.
