Sam just received a wedding invitation. . . to her own wedding.
Samantha Jarlston doesn’t talk about her past and she has no interest in a long-term romantic relationship with anyone. As a 28-year-old genetics Ph.D. student living in New York City with three roommates and two part-time jobs, Sam doesn’t have much time to do anything other than run sequencing experiments, grade lab reports, and avoid handsy assistant professors. She definitely doesn’t have time or means to plot revenge against the evil charlatan who destroyed her family fifteen years ago, let alone think about her former childhood best friend and current chess grandmaster, Andreas Kristiansen.
But then she receives an invitation to her own wedding and Andreas is the groom. This absurdity sets off a series of (unfortunate?) events complete with corporate fraud, academic threats, and a very particular kind of contract relationship, one which explicitly forbids any and all physical contact. Before Sam knows it, she’s living with Andreas in his penthouse apartment. She’s also sleepwalking again, something she hasn’t done since she was a teenager.
Big problem: she keeps waking up in the wrong bed.
‘INHERITANCE’ is book 1 in the ‘Fundamentals of Biology’ trilogy, ends on a cliffhanger, and cannot be listened to as a standalone. ‘Fundamentals of Biology’ is the third trilogy in a series of trilogies that begins with ‘Elements of Chemistry’ and ‘Laws of Physics.’ You do NOT need to listen to ‘Elements of Chemistry’ or ‘Laws of Physics’ before listening to ‘Fundamentals of Biology.’

If you like pearls of wisdom,
along w romance, and laugh out loud moments, as well as learning about current/past issues in our world, she should be your go to author.

It's profound how her books can educate/entertain/enlighten us to make us more kind and compassionate person. It's amazing how her writing style can be so eclectic? In each book with cultures, characters, humor styles, and different current event issues that can enlighten us while entertaining us at the same time.
She got me through Covid with her KNITTING IN THE CITY and the WINSTON BROTHER series which I re-listen to frequently. And bless her heart,
that she put them in the plus category 3-4? years ago? So I could buy her other audible books, and keep building her listening library for my emergency moments when I need to feel good, and to learn to tolerate humanity more.
Like I said,
she's never a disappointment for me.
Because of Long-Haul I no longer can read novels, so Audible is a big part of my life w >1000 books in my library.
I'm so grateful for the plus categories that have introduced me to so many more new incredible authors . My top 5 have now probably turned into my top 50, and well over 100 of just great authors that give us all joy as well as educate, enlighten and entertain us❤️.
I've had to make a card index which also helps me to remember their Names, Books that I have or want to buy, as well as their characters/books/plots/pearls of wisdom so I can share it with others and use it as my memory therapy.
What a loss it would be to forget them.
***and Grisham, Higgans, Reichs, Harris, Poston, Coyle, K Alexander, Sparks, A Cohen❤️
I really appreciate it when people share their favorite authors when they write their reviews, because it broadens my reading/listening.
Thank God for audible books and their PLUSS LIBRARY as I frequently will listen as I'm taking care of my feral and rescue cats, and of course cleaning up after them and cooking for them ❤️
In my eyes you can't go wrong with Penny Reid
Never a disappointment

The story and narrators creatively drew me in. Of course, I wish it was not left hanging on the verge of book two, but the read is still worth it, leaving me in anticipation of Reid’s next release. I love the characters and unfolding.
Penny Reid never disappoints.
