Claire is a happily married mother of three. Her life seems picture perfect until she suspects her husband of sixteen years is having an affair. With the help of her quirky friends Becky and Melanie, Claire gets to the bottom of it. But they uncover more than she bargained for. When she believes she has sufficient proof, Claire decides on the obvious course of action: She must kill her husband.

When they returned to the office, Claire called Melanie at her job to tell her it was on.

“Biotech Industries…”

“Hey, girl. This is Claire.”

“What’s up? What you doing?”

“I’m at work,” Claire said, “about to go to lunch.”

“We should hook up for lunch sometimes,” Melanie said.

“That would be cool,” Claire said. “Except you work in Grand Prairie.”

“We could meet in the middle.”

“If I drove to Arlington, I’d have to turn right back around as soon as I got there.”

“We could–”

“Melanie, I didn’t call to chit chat.”

“Oh, well what’s up then?”

“It’s on,” Claire said.

“What’s on?”

“The stakeout.”

“For real?”

“Yeah,” Claire said. “It’s on. Becky wants to go too.”

“Cool! You must have put on your big girl drawers this morning. What changed your mind?”

“When George came home late last night, he smelled like a fresh shower.”

“I told you.”

“Don’t say that. We still might be wrong.”

“Maybe,” Melanie said. “If we are; no harm done. But if we’re not, we’re gonna get his ass. I wanna run up on him with a camera, like they do on Cheaters.”

Claire laughed, but none of this was funny. What they were joking about may very well be the end of life as she knew it.

“We gonna get his ass,” Melanie said again.

“Don’t forget,” Claire said, “we want to find him doing nothing wrong. If he’s cheating, that’s like, the worst case scenario.”
